The First Spring board
The Youth Organisation in Oyo State started after the International Youth Conference held at Ire Akari Parish, Isolo, Lagos in August, 1999. Participants that attended the conference from Oyo State came back to Ibadan to constitute the Youth Organisation, following the directive of the leadership of the National Youth Organisation that all state representatives must coalesce at that conference and by extension establish Youth Organisation at their various states.
Prior the establishment of the Youth Organisation at the state level, some parishes like CCC Eleyele, Ibadan had started Youth fellowship a couple of months before the trip to the conference at CCC Ire Akari Parish, Isolo, Lagos wherein Leader Moses Iwatade Sobowale was part of them with other youth members that went with him.
Post 1999 conference, it was decided that Snr. Evang. Ebenezer Olaniyan be appointed as the first Oyo State Youth Coordinator. This was done under the leadership of the then Oyo State Evangelist, Senior Evangelist Paul Suru Maforikan. Other members of the executive committee in those days came from other parishes from within the state and formed a chain of leadership that sustained the Youth Organisation in those years. Senior Evangelist Ebenezer Olaniyan was a member at CCC Yemetu, Ibadan and led the youth Organisation through the turbulence of factionalization that rocked the church early this millennium, which led to the fragmentation of leadership, giving birth to multiple Pastors in the church. Unfortunately, the leadership tussle abruptly stalled the leadership of Senior Evangelist Ebenezer Olaniyan of the Youth Organisation around the year 2003, which led to a vacuum that lasted for about one year.
New Leadership
In a meeting of the shepherd's Council at CCC Yemetu in the year 2004, presided over by then Sup. Evang. J.D Nunayon, the issue of the Youths of the church came up in the course of the meeting and it was resolved that the activities of the Youth that had been suspended in the state be reestablished. At that same meeting, the church leadership reconstituted the leadership of the youths and the following leaders were appointed respectively as, Coordinator I, Coordinator II and Coordinator III.
I. Hon. Snr. Evang. F.M. Ogunjimi
II. Hon. Evang. Oluwafemi Obanikoro
III. Ldr. Dayo Ojo
Shortly after this development, a meeting of all the Youth stakeholders in Oyo State was called in April, 2004 by the trio of these leaders and the executive committee was formed. The new springboard of the Youth Organisation took another turn and several parishes in the state identified with the movement. It was very tough at the start, but in no time, the organisation started constituting departments and units which later formed the foundation of the structure on which the organisation is established till date.
The Oyo State Youth Organization had her first Youth convention in 2004 and Evangelist Ayo Olagoke of CCC Yemetu, Ibadan was the chairman. Other members of the Youth Organisation to include, Cape Elder Brother 'Korede Ogunmola [Secretary] Ldr. Tunde Akande [Evangelical Officer] , Ldr. Olayemi Akande [Special Duties], Sup. Snr. Ldr. Moses Temidayo Sobowale (Jnr) [PRO], Bro. Olaolu Omorinde [Evangelism Officer], Elder Brother Sola Akinmade [Special Duties], et al, all committed themselves to the actualization of the maiden convention, which eventually became a huge success. It must be on record that all some of the members of the maiden convention planning committee were the key officers of the executive committee.
At the maiden convention, the Youth Choir was fashioned out and Cape Elder Brother Kayode Ashaolu and Elder Ayoola Olatiregun were made the leaders of the Choir respectively. This maiden convention took place at CCC Army Barracks' Road, Mokola, Ibadan in December, 2004. Other committees like the Press Unit, Evangelism Committee, Drama Unit, etc, later became integral arms of the Oyo State Youth Organization.
The Youth Organisation rose in leaps and bounds and several exploits were carried out by the youths, and parishes showed interest in allowing their youths to identify with the moving train, even till today and regardless of factional bias, members of the Youth Organisation cuts across all parishes within the state.
In the year 2012, the State Youth Coordinator, Most Senior Evangelist Femi Matthew Ogunjinmi passed on and the baton of leadership fell on Most Snr. Evang. Michael Oluwafemi Obanikoro, who had been the next in line from the time the team was constituted in 2004. He led the movement for about three years and Cape Elder Brother 'Korede Ogunmola who had been the secretary, assumed the office of the Assistant Youth Coordinator as well and Bro. Ayo Sobule became the General Secretary.
As the organisation was growing, several attempts were being made at establishing a code of conduct for the Youth Organisation and this was indeed achieved, so as to ensure a smooth leadership transition for the organisation and to ensure a cohesive formation of the Youth apparatus for CCC youths in Oyo State.
The leadership of the Youth Organisation in 2018 presented Evang. 'Korede Ogunmola as the State Youth Coordinator and Snr. Evang. Olaolu Omorinde and Asst. Ldr. Adepoju Omoyajowo as the Assistant Youth Coordinators respectively. Snr. Evang. Funso Osodipe became the secretary of the Organisation. This took a route of two terms. However, the by-law of the organisation is binding on all decisions of the Organisation and also on the transition processes of leadership. A term of two years is the actual period of each leadership and each administration can only serve for a maximum of two terms if they merit the standard of the electoral college and are elected into their position of leadership for the second term.
Snr. Evang. Olaolu Omorinde became the Coordinator in the year 2011. Snr. Ldr. Adepoju Omoyajowo and Bro. Ayo Sobule were Assistant Coordinators respectively. They had a two term tenure and the baton fell on Cape Elder Brother Ayo Sobule in 2024. Cape Elder Ayo Arigbabu and HAE Anu Omorinde became the Assistant Youth Coordinators
